Stainless Steel (SS) 440A Wire & HRAP Wire Rod is a martensitic high carbon stainless steel which is formed to give maximum hardness. It is magnetic in both the conditions – hardened and also annealed. In order to achieve maximum hardness and corrosion resistant it requires a stress relieved and hardened conditions so therefore this alloy is not used in tempered conditions.
Stainless Steel (SS) 440A Wire & HRAP Wire Rod has a lot of characteristics and properties like High carbon martensitic stainless with Moderate corrosion resistance, Good Strength, Ability to obtain and keep excellent hardness and wear resistance and many more.
Grade 440A and 440B have a lot of comparable properties. The only exception between the two is lower carbon percentage in Grade SS 440A. Each of the types of SS grade 440 – A, B, C is not properly utilized except SS 440 C.
