Stainless Steel (SS) 420 RCS, Billets & Blooms is an alteration of grade 410. The only main difference is that Stainless Steel (SS) 420 RCS, Billets & Blooms has high carbon to increase its hardness and strength. Like all martensitic 400 series grade 420 can also be hardened by heat treatment. It has good corrosion resistance and has good ductility. It has the highest level of hardness among all chromium stainless steel. It is a martensitic stainless steel grade. It also has good corrosion resistance, machinability, heat resistance and hardness. It has low chromium and high carbon with sulfur, nickel and molybdenum in it. It is also called surgical steel as it’s used in the surgical industries quite often.
